Privacy & global data protection
Safeguarding policy
WeVoi is built for children and young people aged 6–18. Keeping them safe online and at Forum events is part of our legal duty and our Privacy Policy (GDPR Art. 8, UK Age Appropriate Design Code, COPPA, KVKK and equivalent child-privacy laws worldwide).
Our commitment
Staff, judges and hosts must treat every participant with respect. We do not permit grooming, bullying, hate speech, or private unsolicited contact with a child. Report concerns immediately to info@wevoi.org or +44 207 406 1459.
Parents and guardians
Parental involvement is required for students under 16 (and under 13 everywhere). Parents may link a child account, review submissions before they go public, and exercise the child’s data rights.
Videos
Speeches are submitted as public YouTube links. Do not include surnames of other children, home addresses, school class lists, or sensitive data in a video or description. Parents should use YouTube privacy settings appropriate for their child.
Children’s personal data
We collect the minimum needed to run rounds. We do not sell children’s data or use it for behavioural advertising. See the Privacy Policy for retention, sharing and rights.
How to report
Email info@wevoi.org with “Safeguarding” in the subject. If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first, then tell us.
